FOTD: What was that Leprechaun in the movie so pissed about?

In 1993 Warwick Davis (Willow, The Harry Potter Movies, The Star Wars Movies) took on the role of The Leprechaun. This evil little fairy went on a killing spree that has now spanned six total films and more than a decade. (1993-2006)

In that first film in 1993 he got to terrorize Jennifer Aniston (Friends), but what set him off on his ride of horror in that original? Someone had stolen his 100 golden coins! In the first sequel he comes back on his 1,000th birthday because he got to choose a bride. All he had to do is make her sneeze three times. If only it were that easy in real life.
